What's going on here?

I have found myself in a spot where I would like to keep track of tips and tricks I pick up re: engineering and production. I also have opinions on things as they happen, meaning quasi-album reviews will pop up as well as any strong feelings on techniques or equipment I come across. Is this analog compressor really a better sound than this modeled plug-in ? (Probably not, if the plug-in is any good).

This blog page is really a personal notebook, just being shared on the internet forever in case anyone gleans something worthwhile from what I have to say. It also lets me check back on session notes or musical influences that can then be used as a point of reference.
